The Difference Between Wellness & Medical Services

Wellness

Although they focus on different aspects of health they also serve different purposes.
Here’s How:

Wellness services are generally aimed at promoting overall well-being and preventive care. They focus on maintaining and  improving health through practices such as fitness, nutrition, stress reduction, mindfulness, and alternative therapies. Examples of wellness services include yoga, meditation, massage therapy, acupuncture, and nutritional counseling.

Medical

Medical services, on the other hand, are provided by healthcare professionals and are focused on diagnosing, treating, and managing specific medical conditions or illnesses. These services are typically provided by doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals and may include procedures, medications, surgeries, and specialized treatments. While wellness services can contribute to overall health and well-being, they are not a substitute for medical services.

Medical services are essential for diagnosing and treating medical conditions, providing necessary interventions, and managing acute or chronic illnesses.

So, Why Wellness Services?

Individuals who consistently utilize wellness services requires one to be proactive, while accepting sole responsibility of maintaining the health of all aspects of themselves.  It is important to consult with trained healthcare and wellness professionals to determine the appropriate balance between wellness and medical services based on your individual needs and health conditions.
